Ronald Jenkins was a Mormon church member in the Filer, Idaho area. He served as first counselor in the Filer 2nd Ward bishopric (from approximately 1991 to 1993) and as a stake high council member (from approximately 1993 to 1994). He also was a scout leader.
In 1995, Jenkins was charged with sex crimes in at least 3 Idaho counties.
In 1995, he was indicted by a grand jury in Twin Falls County on 3 counts of lewd conduct.
In April 1996 in Twin Falls Idaho and May 1996 in Franklin County Idaho, Jenkins was convicted of a total of 10 counts of felony child sexual abuse.
As of 2023, Jenkins is a registered sex offender who lives in Caldwell, Idaho.

On a church overnight camping trip Jenkins asked victim if he could
see his penis. Another time, victim was being interviewed by Jenkins as part of
church-conducted interviews with children to see if they were in need of adult
guidance. Jenkins sexually abused victim. Jenkins abused victims at least two more
times at victim’s house and at Jenkins’ house. Another incident occurred on an LDS
church camp. Other incidents happened on a motorcycle trip and on a camping trip.
Jenkins told the victim to victim’s older brother. Victim met Jenkins through Scouts.
