Gary Price was a Mormon church member and Scout leader in the La Grande, Oregon 2nd ward. He was convicted of child sexual abuse in the 1980s and imprisoned in Salem, Oregon.
After release he committed a further child sexual offence in Texas, where he worked as a truck driver, and is understood to have received a life sentence.
According to a person from the same ward, he and his wife volunteered to babysit ward members’ children overnight so that the parents could travel to the Idaho Falls temple, and a large number of children in the ward were affected, including through abuse passed between siblings. The abuse was reported to police by a teacher, who has since left the church.
