James Randall Adams (born about 1969) is a Mormon church member and returned missionary who served in the Connecticut mission around 1988-1991, and is reported to have held a youth leadership calling. On 11 February 2021, aged 51, he was arrested in Utah County and charged with 20 felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
The investigation began with a CyberTip reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on 18 November 2020; police believe he downloaded 2,905 files of child sexual abuse material, and during the investigation found multiple folders of pornographic images on his phone, including one labelled “little” containing images consistent with child exploitation.
Orem Police investigated.
