Bert Whitney was a Mormon church member who allegedly perpetrated a sex crime in 40+ years in Logandale Nevada.
According to someone famililar with Whitney they reported he was local high school teacher and a bishop. They said Whitney regularly sexually abused and raped 9 girls and 1 boy from adolescence and for many years. They also said these victims confided and asked for help from other teachers throughout the years, and were always silenced. At one point one of the victims told a stake president in Logandale, Nevada about the ongoing abuse to try to protect her younger sisters. There were two girls that were living alone with him and they were being abused, at the time of that report.
They reported the church excommunicated Whitney, and then rebaptized him one year later. Whitney was never reported to any authorities. In addition, they stated he abuse other children many years later that were in addition to his original 10 victims. And lastly they reported Whitney was never held accountable.
