Gordon Hinckley (2010 – 2008) was the 15th president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1995 until his death in 2008; accused of failing to help a sexual abuse victim who was his niece (his sister's daughter).

Gordon Hinckley was a Mormon apostle who was the president of the LDS church from 1995 until his death in 2008.

In 2022, Mormon Stories Podcast published an interview in which Hinckley’s niece said that she told Hinckley, when he was president of the LDS church, that her parents had sexually abused her. The victim’s mother was Hinckley’s sister.

Hinckley failed to provide comfort or validation to the victim, instead telling her, “Those things happen and you need to put it behind you and go forward with your life,” she said in the MSP interview.
