Scott Owen (1959 – ) was a Mormon bishop (twice), stake presidency counselor and therapist in Provo, Utah.
Owen was accused by at least seven former patients of sexually abusing them during sessions, and by a relative (alleged sex abuse occurred in the 1980s).
An LDS bishop, a stake president (his business partner) and Utah DOPL all allegedly failed to report to police.
Owen was arrested on Nov. 8, 2023. Floodlit was able to play a role in bringing survivors together – some of whom we found on Reddit – who then communicated with each other and reported Owen to civil authorities, saying he had groomed or assaulted them.
In 2025, Owen was sentenced to prison.
