  SPANISH FORK, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) A 31-year-old Spanish Fork Man is in jail following an investigation that spanned almost 7 months. Detectives say he arranged to meet a 13-year-old girl at a park in Provo and was arrested.

  On Thursday, Detectives with the Utah County Special Victims Unit, affiliated with the Utah Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, arrested Ryan Chad Sherry, 31, of Spanish Fork, following a nearly 7 month investigation.

  During that time, detectives say, Sherry sought out a 13-year-old girl and described what he wanted to do with her. During the investigation it became clear to investigators that Sherry believed he was communicating with a 13-year-old girl.

  He initiated this communication, which was sexual in nature, and was clear in his intentions. He arranged to meet a 13-year-old girl at a location in Provo. When Sherry arrived at that location late on February 25 Detectives arrested him. Sherry was cooperative during the arrest and booking process.

  Sherry was booked into the Utah County Jail on 4 2nd Degree Felony charges, including Attempted Rape of a Child, Attempted Sodomy on a Child, Attempted Aggravated Sex Abuse of a Child, and Enticing A Minor Over the Internet. His bail has been set at $50,000.00 Cash Only.
