Source type: News articleLOGAN — A 54-year-old Paradise man has been arrested and charged with sexually abusing a young girl years ago, according to authorities. David John Keller was booked into the Cache County Jail, May 29, days after confessing the crimes to deputies.
Keller was arraigned in Logan’s 1st District Court on May 31, appearing by video conference from jail. He was charged with seven counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, a first-degree felony.
According to an arrest report, Keller called 911 dispatch operators on May 14, saying that he wanted to confess a crime that he had committed. He spoke with a Cache County Sheriff’s deputy, explaining how he molested and exposed himself to the child when she was between 9 and 11-years-old. The crimes reportedly took place between 2009 and 2011.
Investigators later interviewed the alleged victim. She explained how she remembered multiple incidents when Keller molested and exposed himself to her. She said the incidents left her feeling fearful.
The woman made a phone call to Keller that was recorded by law enforcement. During the conversation, she read a letter detailing the incidents. Keller allegedly admitted to the crimes during the call.
According to court records, Keller is scheduled to appear again in court Monday, June 10. He is being held temporarily in jail and could face up to life in prison, if convicted.
