Jason Pedersen (1979 – ) was an LDS church member in Heber City, Utah; convicted guilty of first-degree felony attempted aggravated sex abuse of a child; as of April 2024, lives in Riverton, Utah as a registered sex offender and is an LDS elders quorum president.

Convicted of ATTEMPTED – AGGRAVATED SEX ABUSE OF A CHILD – 1stDegree Felony.

A source told FLOODLIT that Pedersen sexually abused a child for approximately 5 years, starting when the child was about 5 years old.

The mother of the victim reported the abuse to the bishop, who helped the mother report Pedersen to the police.

FLOODLIT was told the original charge was AGGRAVATED SEX ABUSE OF A CHILD – 1st Degree Felony, and a plea deal was made to plea down to ATTEMPTED – AGGRAVATED SEX ABUSE OF A CHILD – 1st Degree Felony.

Pedersen was not excommunicated by the Mormon church after he was released from prison, the source said.
