Wanlass was sentenced to up to five years in prison and was required to register as a sex offender.

He died in 2018.

    Steve was a member of the LDS Church; also a member of the Sons of Utah Pioneers and Elks. He was a life-long farmer. He enjoyed being in the outdoors and attended mountain man rendevous [sic] whenever he could. He enjoyed sitting around a fire, sharing stories with family and friends. He was a great Dutch oven chef.

    Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, where friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery.
