Michael Anderson (1975 – ) was a Mormon church member and youth soccer coach in American Fork, Utah; charged with 8 charges relating to sexual abuse of a child Nov. 28, 2022 in Utah, charged with LEWD ACTS TO CHILD UNDER 16 in Oklahoma Dec. 1, 2022; pleaded guilty in Utah in April 2023 and no contest in Oklahoma in Oct. 2024 sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

“According to American Fork police, Michael Mark Anderson, 47, was a soccer coach for the UC Strikers and Utah FC junior teams. He reportedly coached between 2000 and 2014. He is facing multiple felony charges in connection with aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

“We have arrested him on several counts of incidents that occurred with [REDACTED],” said American Fork Police Lt. Josh Christiansen. “During the investigation, we did uncover one incident regarding a juvenile that was on one of his soccer teams.”

Anderson remains in custody at the Utah County Jail in Spanish Fork. Police said there could be more victims.

“Due to the magnitude and number of victims we’ve already uncovered just within the [REDACTED], our worry is that there are other victims out there that we’re not aware of,” Christiansen said.

According to the affidavit, Anderson sexually abused a [REDACTED]  while in Utah and Oklahoma over several years, from 2015 to 2022.

American Fork Police are currently working with authorities in Oklahoma on these allegations.” KSL

Anderson was charged with 6 counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and 2 counts of sex abuse of a child in Utah, only two days prior to charges in Oklahoma, lewd acts with a child under 16.

    AMERICAN FORK, Utah — A former soccer coach has been arrested on charges of child sexual abuse in American Fork.

    According to American Fork police, Michael Mark Anderson, 47, was a soccer coach for the UC Strikers and Utah FC junior teams. He reportedly coached between 2000 and 2014. He is facing multiple felony charges in connection with aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

    “We have arrested him on several counts of incidents that occurred with family members,” said American Fork Police Lt. Josh Christiansen. “During the investigation, we did uncover one incident regarding a juvenile that was on one of his soccer teams.”

    Anderson remains in custody at the Utah County Jail in Spanish Fork. Police said there could be more victims.

    “Due to the magnitude and number of victims we’ve already uncovered just within the family, our worry is that there are other victims out there that we’re not aware of,” Christiansen said.

    According to the affidavit, Anderson sexually abused a family member while in Utah and Oklahoma over several years, from 2015 to 2022.

    American Fork Police are currently working with authorities in Oklahoma on these allegations.

    Anderson is expected to return to court on Dec. 5. Police ask anybody with further information to come forward by calling 801-763-3020.
