Brian Bowen was a Mormon church member and podiatrist (foot doctor) in Portland, Oregon.

Bowen graduated from high school in Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1992.

Bowen went on a full-time mission for the Mormon church in approximately 1994-96 to Tempe, Arizona (Spanish speaking).

He married in 1997.

As of February 2024, at least nine women had accused Bowen of sexual misconduct.
