was an LDS church member and principal in Heber, Utah; convicted of forcible sodomy, forcible sexual abuse unlawful sexual activity with a minor; admitted to sexually abusing children throughout his 35 year career

Case report

Charles Weber was an LDS member in Heber City, Utah. He was a former principal who admitted to sexually abusing young boys for the last 35 years, as of the 2019 investigation. In 2012 from January through April, Weber sexually abused a 15-year-old boy. The boys mother complained to the school board stating “something weird” is going on between Charles and her son. There also were multiple complaints brought to the school board from staff members and concerned parents that went unheard.

On Decembers 3, 2012, 6 charges were filed for forcible sodomy in the 1st degree against Weber, for abuse that happened January 01, 2012. Weber was sentenced to 5 years in prison after accepting a plea deal to 2 counts of forcible sodomy, and was convicted.

While in prison more charges were brought against Weber. July 03, 2013, 6 more charges were filed against Charles Weber for forcible sexual abuse in the 2nd degree. To which Weber was found guilty and sentenced to 5 more years in prison and was convicted.

November 11, 2013, 3 more charges were filed against Weber for abuses that occurred September 19, 2008. Those 3 charges were unlawful sexual activity of a minor in the 3rd degree. These charges were brought against Weber in Salt Lake County, but 6 days later were transferred to West Jordan courts. The judge removed himself from this case because he had “too many connections to the Wasatch community”. Once the charges were transferred they remained the same, 3 charges of unlawful sexual activity with a minor on September 19, 2008, filed on November 11, 2023. Weber pleaded guilty and was convicted once again. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison and was convicted. All prison sentences were to run consecutively with one another.
