Chad Daniel Christensen was a Mormon in Kaysville, Utah.

In July 2017, Christensen was in an online chat with an adult, that was an undercover police officer.  When the officer mentioned they had a 13-year-old daughter, Christensen got her contact info and started chatting with her.  From August 2-23 Christensen chatted with the 13-year-old girl, which was really the undercover officer. The chats were sexually explicit “during which Christensen described sex acts he desired “and some other acts that constitute indecent liberties, all for sexual gratification, the charges state.” KSL. Christensen was arrested August 2017.

According to someone familiar with Christensen he was excommunicated in 2012 for pornography use and sexual abuse and was rebaptized in 2013.  In addition, they reported that Christensen was excommunicated in September of 2013 for adultery and rebaptized April 2015. Lastly, they stated that Christensen was excommunicated for his 2017 conviction and has not been rebaptized, but actively attends the LDS church.

    Chad Daniel Christensen, 55, is charged in 2nd District Court with six counts of enticing a minor, one second-degree felony and five third-degree felonies.

    On July 26, an undercover officer began a conversation with Christensen on an internet website, police say. When the officer claimed he had a 13-year-old daughter, Christensen got her contact information and began texting her, according to charging documents.

    The undercover officer, now posing as the 13-year-old girl, chatted with Christensen from Aug. 2 to Aug. 23, during which Christensen described sex acts he desired "and some other acts that constitute indecent liberties, all for sexual gratification," the charges state.

    When Christensen attempted to arrange a meeting with the girl, he was arrested. Prosecutors have requested a $250,000 bail.

    A man has been arrested and now faces felony charges after he met up with an undercover officer he believed was a 13-year-old girl. Chad Daniel Christensen, 55, of Kaysville, has been charged with six counts of enticing a minor, one second-degree felony and five third-degree felonies. The investigation began on July 26 when an undercover officer began an online conversation with Christensen on a website. When the officer said he had a 13-year-old daughter, Christensen got a hold of her information and began texting her, according to charging documents.

    The officer, posing as the 13-year-old girl, chatted with Christensen from Aug. 2 to Aug. 23, and over that time frame Christensen described several sex acts he desired to the officer. When Christensen attempted to arrange a meeting with the girl, he was arrested. Prosecutors have asked the judge for a $250,000 bail.
