From obituary:
“[H]e felt like he wanted to go on a mission. His bishop asked him where he would like to serve, and he indicated Hawaii which is where he was called. He got engaged to Mom prior to him starting his mission in May of 1946. They corresponded faithfully for the two years of his mission.
Mom and Dad were married June 5, 1948 in the Hawaiian Temple.
[…]
Mom and Dad served two missions together. One on the Rocky Boy reservation in Montana and one at the Washington DC Temple. They served as ordinance workers in the Ogden and Bountiful Temples.
[…]
Dad’s life was spent in the service of others, whether it was serving in various church callings, stopping to help someone stranded on the side of the highway, or sharing his time and means to help others build up their food storage.”
