Guy Schuurman was a Mormon church member in Sandy, Utah.
Schuurman pleaded guilty in 1994 to one second-degree felony count of sex abuse of a child.
Schuurman was accused of sexual touching of a 10- or 11-year-old girl. The alleged abuse took place in 1992.
Schuurman was sentenced to one year in jail with time out for counseling and group therapy once a week.
Schuurman completed probation in 1997.
Schuurman was a registered sex offender as of 2007.
Schuurman died in 2015.
From Schuurman’s obituary: “He loved many things, but most of all he loved his wife, who he married in the Salt Lake Temple for all Eternity and remained married for 63 years.”
