Miles Petty (2003 – ) was a Mormon in Orem, Utah; pc affidavit said he contacted a team member of Predator Poachers that was posing as a 13-year-old girl, had sexually explicit conversations, masturbated on a video call with the undercover member; Petty drove to meet 13-year-old team member; police were called, Petty was taken to Sandy Police Department; has four charges related sex abuse; due in court March 30, 2026.

Miles Petty was a Mormon in Orem, Utah, that allegedly attempted to meet a 13 year old girl for sex.

Predator Poachers had a YouTube channel with a video of them confronting Petty as he met with a decoy posing as a 13 year old girl.  They had online chats and Petty sent them sexually explicit photos in online chats.

According to the P.C. Affidavit, Petty reached out to an undercover woman posing as a 13 year old girl that worked with Predator Poachers.  During the chat Petty quickly began a sexually explicit conversation, even though at the beginning of the chat he was informed she was 13-years-old.  He then sent her an Instagram account he created to see if the girl was real.

Once he was satisfied to her being a 13-year-old girl he then asked to do a video chat with her.  He then masturbated into a sex toy while on camera.

In February 2025, Petty met the undercover agent who was posing as a 13-year-old at her apartment in Sandy, Utah.  Where Predator Poachers confronted him and called the police.

He was transported to Sandy City Police Department.  While in transport, Petty admitted he had watched CSAM on his laptop, which was located at his home in Orem, Utah, according to the P.C. Affidavit.

July 7, 2025 CHARGES:

-ATTEMPTED – RAPE OF A CHILD – 1st Degree Felony

-ENTICING A MINOR – FIRST DEGREE FELONY SEXUAL ACTIVITY – 2nd Degree Felony

-CRIMINAL SOLICITATION – MINOR – SECOND DEGREE FELONY – 2nd Degree Felony

-DEALING IN MATERIALS HARMFUL TO MINOR – 3rd Degree Felony

Defendant is ordered GPS ankle monitor
