Lindon Claridge (1992 – ) was a Mormon church member in 2014; posed as a teenager on Facebook to lure a 12-year-old girl in Concord, North Carolina, then kidnapped and molested her; months later, he was arrested in a separate FBI sting on online predators and charged with sexually exploiting the same victim; pleaded guilty in 2015; served time in North Carolina; lives as a registered sex offender in Tucson, AZ as of 2026.

Lindon Kristofer Claridge was a Mormon church member from Cornelius, North Carolina.

In July 2014, using a fake Facebook profile in which he posed as a 16 year old boy, Claridge contacted a 12 year old girl in Concord, North Carolina. Her mother later told WCCB that Claridge had used at least three different fake identities online.

On August 12, 2014, after about a week of texting and phone calls, Claridge coerced the girl into giving him her home address. Her mother said Claridge then threatened to harm her whole family if she didn’t come outside, so she did, and he kept her for more than three hours. During that time, the girl says Claridge kissed her and touched her inappropriately before dropping her off a few blocks from her house.

Concord Police issued a warrant for Claridge’s arrest on September 9, 2014, charging him with first degree kidnapping and indecent liberties with a child. By that point, Claridge, then 21, had moved to Tucson, Arizona.

On September 11, 2014, Pima County Sheriff’s deputies, acting on a request from Concord Police, tracked him down and arrested him at a home in Tucson. He was extradited back to North Carolina to face the charges.

In early 2015, Claridge was swept up in a second case. The FBI and North Carolina law enforcement had spent two weeks investigating people who victimized children online. On February 3, 2015, Claridge was arrested again, this time in Concord, along with nine other men across the state, including two others arrested in Cabarrus County the same week.

The second arrest brought additional charges: two counts of first degree sexual exploitation of a minor, tied to conduct from July 2014, around the same time Claridge first contacted the girl on Facebook.

On April 2, 2015, Claridge entered an Alford guilty plea to all the charges. A judge sentenced him to an active prison term of 44 to 113 months (mitigated range) for the kidnapping and indecent liberties charges, consolidated together. North Carolina’s sex offender registry separately lists a total confinement term of 9 years, 5 months across his convictions, with a release date of September 26, 2018.

Claridge is a registered sex offender in both North Carolina and Arizona. As of September 2026, he lives in Tucson, Arizona.

A source familiar with Claridge has reported that Claridge attends their LDS ward.  They also reported his records have been removed, and they believe it is because he was excommunicated for his 2015 conviction.

He is a registered sex offender in both North Carolina and Arizona, and as of September 2026 lives in Tucson, Arizona.

    A fugitive wanted in North Carolina was arrested in Tucson Thursday morning.

    Just after 8 a.m. a representative from the Concord Police Department in North Carolina called the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, asking for assistance in locating 21-year-old Lindon Claridge, who was now living in the Tucson area, Deputy Tracy Suitt, a spokesman for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, said in a news release.

    Less than three hours later deputies had Claride in custody after tracking him down at a home in the 1900 block of West Gardner Lane near north Romero Road.

    Claridge is wanted in North Carolina on charges of kidnapping and indecent liberties with a child.

    Under North Carolina statues, a person commits indecent liberties with a child if he is at least 16 years old and five or more years older than the child.

    CONCORD, NC – An online predator accused of targeting a 12-year-old girl from Concord is awaiting extradition to North Carolina.

    Police in Arizona found 21-year-old Lindon Claridge who is charged with kidnapping and indecent liberties with a child.

    The victim’s mother spoke only to WCCB Charlotte Monday. She is warning parents to strictly monitor their kids’ social media sites and phones because she believes Claridge targeted other girls too.

    “Look at your kid’s Twitter account and Facebook accounts with a fine tooth comb because this boy went by three aliases, three different people he was claiming to be,” said the victim’s mother, who didn’t want to give her name.

    The victim says the man from Cornelius posed as a 16-year-old on Facebook. Her mother says Claridge friend-requested her 12-year-old daughter on Facebook in August. In less than a week, she says they were texting and talking on the phone. Then, she says he coerced the girl into giving him their address.

    “He threatened her, if she didn’t come outside, he would harm the whole family. So, that’s when she went outside and he had my daughter for over three hours,” said the victim’s mother.

    The victim tells WCCB she was inappropriately touched by Claridge and then dropped off a few blocks from her house.

    “He kissed my daughter and touched my daughter in places he shouldn’t have,” said the victim’s mother,

    Concord police issued a warrant for Claridge on September 9th. On September 11th, officers found him in Arizona where he was charged with kidnapping and indecent liberties with a child.

    “I know there’s other kids out there that he’s messed with. Look through their phones for these little apps that they can hide.”

    Concord Police say Claridge has an extradition hearing in Arizona on Thursday.

    The victim’s mother says she has a hearing Wednesday to get a restraining order against Claridge.

    James Ford didn't have much to say as he walked out of the Cabarrus County courthouse Thursday morning.

    He made his first appearance on charges of distributing or receiving materials of children engaging in sexual activity.

    Channel 9 asked Ford if it was embarrassing for him.

    "No, it's not. It's embarrassing for my family. I'm not going to comment," he said.

    Ford was accompanied by his father, who grabbed a Channel 9 microphone after Eyewitness News confronted his son.

    Investigators also arrested two men in Cabarrus County the same day as Ford.

    Michael Dennis Jr. faces six charges of distributing and receiving materials of children engaging in sexual activity. Channel 9 obtained court documents indicating the crimes span from August 2013 to November 2014.

    Lindon Claridge faces more serious charges from July of last year, including indecent liberties with a minor. Investigators said he contacted his 12-year-old victim on Facebook.

    When Channel 9 looked into his criminal history, Eyewitness News found he was arrested in October for contacting a 12-year-old girl on Facebook.

    Dennis and Claridge are set to appear in court Feb. 25.

    Detectives from the sheriff’s Fugitive Investigative Strike Team arrested Claridge at a Tucson home Thursday morning.

    He was transported to the county’s Adult Detention Complex and is expected to be extradited to North Carolina.

    Authorities didn’t immediately release details of Claridge’s case.
