John Harold Lindemer was a Mormon bishop who also held youth and missionary leadership roles and, according to the report, possibly stake positions. A person who reported the case to FLOODLIT states that he sexually abused them throughout their childhood, to the point of dissociative amnesia, and continued to contact and follow them in person and online after they told him at age 11 that they wanted nothing more to do with him.

He was an active, temple-attending member throughout, and held the office of bishop during the period of the abuse.

He died in 2019.
