Wilford Honsvick (1930-2022) was a Mormon church member in Bountiful, Utah, who held many callings including president of an elders quorum and leadership positions working with children. From 1978 to 1985 he groomed and sexually abused a grandchild from infancy to the age of seven or eight, and abused a younger sibling of that child, including by directing the older child to perform sex acts on the younger; he also abused a third grandchild.

The person who reported this to FLOODLIT states that he had abused his own daughters years earlier.

When the abuse was partially disclosed, he pleaded in court to a misdemeanour comparable in gravity to a traffic violation, was not placed on the sex offender registry, and continued to play Santa Claus into old age. According to the report, church leaders were told by the reporting grandchild and by two adult relatives who had been abused as teenagers, and nothing was done; he died holding a full temple recommend, denying the abuse. At a family funeral about four years ago, his bishop reportedly used the pulpit to reprimand family members who could not forgive him.
