Joel Patrick Kenney was a Mormon church member, dance teacher and actor in Scottsdale Arizona.

Kenney was a formal dance teacher who perpetrated a sex crime in 1986, in Scottsdale Arizona, at Actors Lab Arizona.

Kenney was fired from Actors Lab Arizona as the director of education in December 1988 after an internal investigation regarding sexual abuse allegations.

According to a person familiar with Kenney they reported he  confessed to Arlo Kay Atkins who is also listed in the FLOODLIT database, while he was Kenney’s LDS bishop. Kenney was a member of the Chandler Arizona 7th Ward, was excommunicated for molesting 4 boys in Scottsdale, AZ.  They reported Kenney absconded and was featured on America’s Most Wanted in the 1990’s.  And reported while Kenney was hiding from the law he went by Joel Lenney and Joe Armendarez.

    A Chandler actor who worked for two Scottsdale theater companies has been found guilty by a jury of 10 felony charges after being tried and absentia for sexually abusing two of his male pupils and providing a female people with marijuana.

    Joel P. Kenney, 31, formerly of the 2300 block of West Australia Dr., ChandlerAustralia Dr., ChandlerDrive, Chandler, has been free on $15,500 dollars bail, but a bench warrant was issued for his arrest after his failed to appear for Dec. 14 pretrial hearing.

    Jeff Sandler, a deputy Maricopa County attorney, said Thursday that Kenney remains at large and will not be sentenced until he is in custody. Kenney faces a minimum of 108 years in prison in the maximum of 216, all without the possibility of parole.

    After three-day trial before Judge Norman Hall of Maricopa County Superior Court, Kenny was found guilty Wednesday of four counts feature child molestation and sexual conduct with minor, plus two counts of involving minors in the use of illegal drugs.

    Kenny was dismissed in December 1988 from his job as director of education at the Arizona Academy for performing arts in Scottsdale after an internal investigation of sexual-abuse allegations, according to Richard Arvizu, the Academy's managing director.
