As of 2025, Zaugg was a registered sex offender living in Roy, Utah.

Scott Zaugg is a brother of Jeffrey Zaugg and a second cousin (sharing the same paternal great-grandfather) of Laron Zaugg. FLOODLIT has not found a relation between these men and Krew Zaugg.

According to someone familiar with Zaugg, he was a Sunday school teacher sometime between 1995-1997 in the Hooper 3rd Ward, in Hooper, Utah, Hooper is a neighboring city to Roy.
