1. Judge denies attorney's early release request
IDAHO FALLS (AP) - A judge in eastern Idaho has denied a petition for a reduced jail sentence filed by a former attorney convicted of molesting a teenage girl. Scott Wolfley, 55, a former lawyer in Idaho Falls, pleaded guilty in March to one count of felony sexual battery of a minor and was sentenced to six months in the Bonneville County work release center. Seventh District Judge Joel Tingey also ordered Wolfley to serve 12 years of supervised probation pending his release.
During a hearing Monday, Tingey rejected Wolfley's request for early release. Wolfley sought to be place on house arrest instead, hoping to avoid the fees charged to those in the work release program. However, the judge granted Wolfley a one furlough for medical reasons.
