was an LDS church member in Jujuy, Argentina; arrested on child pornography and abuse charges (which includes distribution, tenancy, and production of material)

Case report

Ángel Orlando Jaramillo was a Mormon in Jujuy, Argentina.

Jaramillo was arrested on child pornography and abuse charges (which includes distribution, tenancy, and production of material).

At the time of his arrest, Jaramillo was a stake high council member and the LDS church’s public relations representative in the Jujuy province.

He was reportedly discovered to be part of a child pornography (child sexual abuse material) ring, along with many influential politicians of the province of Jujuy.

A source told FLOODLIT that local LDS leader said Jaramillo was “framed.”

Local Relief Society sisters visited Jaramillo in prison and delivered him food, and publicly defended him in monthly fast and testimony Sunday meetings, the source said.
