1. Former Austin-area scout master facing child porn charge
AUSTIN, Texas (KEYE) — A former scout master has been arrested for child pornography.
Austin Police arrested 52-year-old Marc Turner this week after his company tipped off investigators.
When police executed a warrant on his home in Northeast Austin on Carisbrooke Lane, they found devices with child pornography -- some that appeared to be shot by Turner at his home, according to court documents.
The Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America says Turner was a "registered adult leader" from 2006 to 2014. He was also a scout master from 2012 to 2014. He is now on the "ineligible volunteer" database so he can never join another chapter.
The Boy Scouts of America say they are now working with other chapters to alert past and current members of the arrest.
Turner is charged with promotion of child pornography, a second degree felony.
