Richard Harrison was a Mormon church member and high school teacher in Grantsville, Utah; pleaded guilty in November 2024 to sexually abusing one his students; the abuse happened in the 2017-2018 school year; as of 2025, is in Tooele County Jail.

Richard Craig Harrison was a Mormon church member who perpetrated a sex crime in 2017-2018 school year, in Grantsville Utah. A 14-15 old female student reported to the police she had been sexually assaulted in different locations in the school, reporting Harrison grabbed her breast, butt and once put his hand down her pants. Harrison is a former High School teacher at Grantsville High. In November 2024 Harrison pleaded guilty to one count of forcible sexual abuse (second degree felony), and two reduced counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor (third degree felony). Harrison was sentenced to 1 year in prison and 4 years parole. And is currently in Tooele County Jail.

“Harrison currently faces several felonies in other cases. He is charged with forgery, a third-degree felony, after allegedly sending an email to his ex-wife in 2022 posing as a family therapist, giving “advice to his ex-wife that she should forgive (Harrison’s) indiscretions and attempt to reconcile with (him),” according to charging documents.

The therapist named in the email said she didn’t write the letter, the charges say.

The man also faces two counts of tampering with a witness, a third-degree felony; and electronic communication harassment, a class B misdemeanor. Charges accuse Harrison of harassing his ex-wife and trying to convince her to drop charges in a separate justice court case.

Harrison is scheduled back in court on Feb. 18 for a preliminary hearing in those two cases.”
