Douglas Melvin Hall

Douglas Melvin Hall was a Mormon church member and real estate agent (realtor) in the Ammon / Idaho Falls areas of Idaho.

In April 2025, Douglas pleaded guilty to one count of object rape, a first-degree felony, in Utah. He was sentenced to five years to life in prison.

Later in 2025, Hall pleaded guilty in Idaho to one felony count of lewd conduct with a minor under the age of 16. He was sentenced to eight years to life in prison. The Idaho court ruled that its sentence would run concurrently with the Utah sentence.

Douglas Hall: Alleged Child Sexual Abuse in Utah

Floodlit has obtained court documents in Hall’s Utah case, thanks to your donations.

In the Utah case, Hall allegedly abused a girl for around two years, according to a police affidavit.

The victim told investigators that Hall abused her during a trip in Utah in 2024. She said he abused her on numerous other occasions in Idaho, according to the affidavit.

Hall allegedly sexually assaulted the victim hundreds of times, according to a relative’s January 2025 letter to the Utah court requesting that Hall continue to be held without bail.

Many of Hall’s alleged assaults included drugging the victim with sleeping medication.

Hall allegedly engaged in various forms of emotional, psychological and religious manipulation against the victim, per court docs.

The relative told the court that the victim “would listen to hard core music to help cope with the stress of Doug’s abuse.”

In response, the relative wrote, “Doug would use religious manipulation to pressure [the victim] to stop listening to heavy metal music, promising her that if she stopped listening to inappropriate music, ‘Heavenly Father and Jesus would help her forgive him.'”
