Nathan Tripp was a former Mormon bishop in living in the St. Louis area of Missouri, in 2025 when he was arrested and charged with two counts of statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy of a person less than 12 years old.
The alleged crimes took place in Webster Groves, a subburb in St. Louis. The alleged victim said Tripp began abusing them in 2021 and that the abuse continued until 2025.
According to the person who told Floodlit about Tripp’s case, Tripp was in the following positions in the Mormon church prior to his arrest: bishop, primary pianest, primary chorister, missionary, scout leader and ward music leader.
At the time of his arrest, Tripp was attending the Tower Grove branch of the South St Louis Stake, the source said.
According to a KSDK news article, “Investigators with the Webster Groves Police Department believe there may be additional victims. Anyone with information about the incident or who has experienced similar abuse involving Tripp was asked to contact Webster Groves Police Cpt. Jillian McCoy at 314-963-5407.”

WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. — A St. Louis County man was arrested this week for the alleged sexual abuse of a young family member over several years, police said.
Nathan Tripp was charged Friday with two counts of statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy of a person less than 12 years old. Police said Tripp was being held at the St. Louis County Justice Center on a $75,000 bond.
Court documents say the victim told their parents that Tripp had been inappropriately touching them since 2021.
Investigators with the Webster Groves Police Department believe there may be additional victims. Anyone with information about the incident or who has experienced similar abuse involving Tripp was asked to contact Webster Groves Police Cpt. Jillian McCoy at 314-963-5407.

2. Man Charged With Sexual Abuse Of A Family Member
A St. Louis County man has been charged with sexually abusing a young family member for several years, and police believe there could be more victims.
Following an investigation by the Webster Groves Police Department, Nathan Tripp, 58, was charged on Nov. 14 with two felony counts of statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy/deviate sexual intercourse with a victim less than 12 years old, according to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Tripp, of the 6900 block of Ravenscroft Drive in south St. Louis County, is currently jailed on a $750,000 bond.
The young female victim told her parents and police that Tripp had been inappropriately touching her over the course of several years, with the abuse beginning in 2021, according to the Webster Groves Police Department.
Investigators believe there could be additional victims. Anyone with information related to this investigation or who has experienced similar incidents involving Tripp is urged to contact Capt. Tripp does not appear to have any prior criminal history in Missouri, according to online court records.
