1. Employee at Layton school arrested for unlawful kissing of a minor
LAYTON, Utah (ABC4) — An employee at a Layton junior high school was briefly jailed for allegedly kissing a 17-year-old boy on multiple occasions.
Hali Lunt, 44, was arrested on Friday for unlawful kissing of a minor, a Class A misdemeanor.
According to the Davis County School District, Lunt was placed on leave before winter break started in December. The school district’s website lists Lunt as an office assistant at Shoreline Junior High School.
“The alleged conduct is not affiliated with the Davis School District. The district appreciates its ongoing working relationship with law enforcement,” a spokesperson with the district shared in a statement to ABC4.
According to the arrest statement, the Layton Police Department began investigating a report that Lunt unlawfully kissed a 17-year-old male on Dec. 15, 2025. The following day, the teen was interviewed at the Children’s Justice Center.
The 17-year-old disclosed to police that Lunt had “kissed him on multiple occasions.” He described several of those incidents to the police. Witnesses spoke with law enforcement and corroborated the teen’s recounting of what occurred.
Police brought Lunt in for questioning. She allegedly admitted to kissing the teenager and stated that she was aware he was under the age of 18. Lunt told police she had used tongue when kissing him, and it occurred roughly one week prior.
Lunt was arrested and booked into jail, but was later released with conditions. Her connection to the 17-year-old victim was not disclosed by police.
