Robert Adams (1971 – ) was a Mormon church member and 2nd counselor in the bishopric, in Farmington, Utah; convicted of attempted aggravated sexual abuse of a child in 2019; the victim was an 11-year-old girl; sentenced to 365 days in jail; is a registered sex offender February 2026; reportedly approved for rebaptism.

Robert David Adams was a Mormon church member and 2nd counselor in his ward bishopric.

In 2018 an 11-year-old victim reported to her mother and ecclesiastical leader that she had been sexually abused by Adam’s on three separate occasions, according to court documents.

Adams was charged with three counts:

-attempted aggravated sexual abuse of a child, 1st degree/pleaded guilty

-attempted aggravated sexual abuse of a child, 1st degree/pleaded guilty

-attempted aggravated sexual abuse of a child, 1st degree/dismissed w/prejudice

On January 30, 2019, Adams entered a guilty plea on two counts and was convicted.  He was sentenced to 365 days in Davis County jail and 48 months probation.

As of February 2026 Adams is a registered sex offender living in Syracuse, UT.

According to someone familiar with Adams he was excommunicated from the Mormon church shortly after his conviction.  They also report, that as of February 2026, he has recently been approved for rebaptism in the Mormon church.
