STEVEN WILKINSON BRADFORD CHILD ABUSE CONVICTION
In 2026, the Offender Database recorded that 44-year-old Steven Wilkinson—of Elmfield Drive, Bradford—was jailed for four years after being branded an active predator by the court. The investigation established that Wilkinson had amassed a sickening collection of child abuse material over 12 years. The prosecution reported that his interest in children only came to light following an undercover police operation where Wilkinson engaged in sexual communication with officers posing as 14-year-old boys, describing one as being "sexy as hell" in his school uniform.
The investigation established that Wilkinson’s offending was systematic and involved the highest levels of child exploitation. The prosecution reported that forensic experts seized devices in March 2025 containing almost 350 indecent images, including the sexual abuse of babies. Wilkinson did not merely consume the material; he was a prolific distributor who sent over 300 attachments to a single user and engaged in online forums dedicated to the discussion and dissemination of child sexual abuse.
Judicial Findings and Predatory Behaviour
The court reported that Wilkinson had been adding to the demand in a vile marketplace by distributing images to at least 14 other users or groups. The investigation established that Wilkinson’s 2013 caution for outraging public decency was an early indicator of his deviant interests. The prosecution reported that during the sentencing at Bradford Crown Court on Monday, 13 April 2026, Judge Ahmed Nadim emphasised that the videos were recordings of real children suffering real harm, pain, and humiliation.
Judge-led proceedings concluded with Wilkinson being sentenced to four years in prison, a term reduced from six years due to his early guilty plea. For his actions in Bradford and the nature of the prolific distribution reported, he admitted to eight serious sexual offences, including attempting sexual communication with a child and multiple counts of distribution. The judge noted that Wilkinson was an active predator who sought to groom and manipulate children to live out his deviant sexual fantasies.
Status and Statutory Requirements
Based on the judicial orders issued at Bradford Crown Court in 2026:
Custodial Status: SERVING (Sentenced to 4 years in 2026; currently incarcerated or on licence).
Sex Offenders Register: Notification requirements are active FOR LIFE.
SHPO Status: Active for 20 YEARS (Sexual Harm Prevention Order restricting all digital activity and contact with minors).
DBS Status: Placed on the Barring List (Indefinite ban on working with children or vulnerable adults; permanently barred from all regulated activity).
Legal Status: CONVICTED (Attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child x2; Distributing indecent images of children x3; Possessing indecent images of children x3).
Judicial Oversight: Sentenced at Bradford Crown Court; investigated by West Yorkshire Police.
Criminal Record: Active predator who distributed material to at least 14 users; Possessed images of babies being abused; Targeted 14-year-olds in a police sting; 12-year history of amassing and sharing illegal material.
Origin: Elmfield Drive, Bradford, West Yorkshire.
Monitoring and Public Protection
Wilkinson is managed as a high-risk registered sex offender under the statutory requirements of the Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) in West Yorkshire. Due to the nature of his conduct—specifically his long-term involvement in abuse forums and his active attempts to groom what he believed were schoolboys—he is a priority for the most intensive digital forensic oversight. Authorities reported that the 2026 conviction ensures Wilkinson is subject to a 20-year SHPO, the most stringent level of community protection available.
As a registered sex offender for life, his details are permanently logged on the national police database. Authorities state that Wilkinson’s history identifies him as an individual who prioritised his own deviant desires over the lifelong psychological trauma of children. Any failure by Wilkinson to notify police of his movements in Bradford or elsewhere, or any attempt to access prohibited online forums, will result in immediate police intervention to ensure the ongoing safety of the public from a man who has violated the principles of human decency.
QUESTION - Given that the offender was active in "Online Forums" for over a decade before being caught, do you believe that "AI-Driven Forum Scraping" should be legally mandatory for all ISPs to report users discussing child abuse to the police proactively?

2. Active predator sought to commit sexual offences involving real children
A man described by a judge as “an active predator” has been jailed for four years after he amassed a collection of indecent material of children over more than a decade.
Steven Wilkinson’s sexual interest in children only came to light after he was involved in online chats with two undercover police officers posing as 14-year-old boys.
Bradford Crown Court heard today (Mon) how Wilkinson described one “boy” as being “sexy as hell” when he was a sent a photograph of the youngster in a school uniform.
When officers went to Wilkinson’s home in Elmfield Drive, Bradford, in March last year they seized various electronic devices and discovered almost 350 indecent images had been downloaded.
Prosecutor David Hewitt said the material had been downloaded between 2013 and March 2025 and included the sexual abuse of babies as well as older children.
He said there was evidence that Wilkinson had discussed child abuse in online forums and had distributed material to at least 14 other users or groups.
Wilkinson was said to have distributed more than 300 attachments containing various levels of abuse to one user alone.
The court heard that Wilkinson, 44, had no previous convictions, but back in 2013 he was given a caution for outraging public decency.
Wilkinson admitted two offences of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, three offences of distributing indecent images of children and three offences of possessing indecent image of children.
Barrister Lauren Smith, for Wilkinson, said he had recognised the danger that he posed and was very keen to get help from the probation service.
But Judge Ahmed Nadim said Wilkinson had pleaded guilty to eight serious sexual offences.
“The production, possession and distribution of indecent images of children are not victimless crimes,” he told Wilkinson.
“They are a digital record of the rape and sexual abuse of real children.
“Every image you possessed and every image that you distributed is a permanent record of an act of degradation, pain and humiliation inflicted upon a vulnerable child. The psychological damage to those victims is profound and life long.”
The judge said the sound on the videos were “recordings of real children suffering real harm”.
Judge Nadim said Wilkinson had been adding to the demand in a vile marketplace by distributing images and his offending was aggravated by its duration and systematic nature.
He said the offending was also aggravated by the fact that Wilkinson had then sought to live out his “sexual fantasies” by communicating with what he believed to be 14-year-old boys.
“You were an active predator seeking to groom, manipulate and ultimately commit sexual offences involving real children,” said the judge.
Wilkinson will now have to register as a sex offender with the police for the rest of his life and he must comply with the terms of a sexual harm prevention order for the next 20 years.
Wilkinson’s early guilty pleas at the magistrates court meant that his possible six-year jail term following a trial had to be reduced by the judge to four years.
