Aaron Usery was a Mormon church member from Mesa, Arizona. Between September 2014 and February 2015 he used the art-sharing site DeviantArt to groom two 12-year-old girls, threatening them when they would not send him nude photographs.

He was arrested in 2016, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 17 years in prison; he is held in the Arizona Department of Corrections.

A childhood friend who reported the case to FLOODLIT confirmed his LDS membership, which news coverage did not report, and said his father had served as a bishop. According to that account his family cooperated with authorities rather than shielding him.
