In September 2021 he was sentenced to 120 days in jail plus probation for child abuse involving five victims aged between 5 and 16; he had struck children with wooden, metal and wire implements he had given names, and one child was allegedly tied to a stool with paracord.

In May 2023, aged 45, he was booked on suspicion of forcible sexual abuse, a first-degree felony, after two young girls reported that he had exposed himself to them, entered bathrooms while they were showering, and touched them inappropriately.

Authorities described him as a person of trust to the children. He declined to answer questions when deputies attempted to interview him.
