Michael Evans was a Mormon church stake presidency counselor in Sycamore, Illinois in 2000.
In 2024, Evans was accused in a civil lawsuit of covering up sexual assault by a Mormon bishop (Douglas Holyoak) in his stake and of attempting to gaslight the victim; later became a stake president (Rockford, Illinois Stake 2009-16) and a mission president (Paraguay Asuncion North 2016-19).
Details of the accusations against Evans are available at Holyoak’s case report on FLOODLIT.
