Case report

Steven Hammock was a Mormon church member in Utah. He was convicted of sexually abusing a girl, and a federal judge awarded damages to his victim in a civil suit.

During the civil process, the LDS church successfully fought to keep the substance of Hammock’s conversations with his bishop secret.
