1. Former Salem-Keizer teacher gets jail time in sex abuse of student
SALEM, Ore. — A 40-year-old former Salem-Keizer teacher was sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexually abusing a student.
Shane Ross had a sexual contact with a former student over the course of several years. Salem Police arrested Ross in June 2017 after an investigation that lasted several months. He last taught at Englewood Elementary School before he was placed on leave in March.
Ross was a physical education teacher at Englewood starting in 2012. The student Ross sexually abused didn't attend Englewood Elementary.
Ross pleaded guilty to sex abuse and unlawful sexual penetration in February 2018. Friday, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
