Woman allegedly tied to Pasco murder case arrested in Idaho prostitution sting

Source type: News articleA woman accused of helping lure a Pasco man into an ambush-style killing was one of nine people arrested recently in a prostitution ring at an Idaho casino.
Mary A. Faucett, 26, was charged with prostitution following the two-day sting at the Cour d’Alene Casino, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.
Eight women — who range in age from 18 to 46 — were busted and charged in the case. A Richland man, Scott O. Ashton, 39, also was arrested and charged with solicitation of prostitution.
Faucett is charged in Franklin County with conspiracy, making false or misleading statements to a public servant and first-degree rendering criminal assistance for her alleged role in the December murder of Lorenzo “Richie” Fernandez Jr., 22. She has pleaded innocent and is set to go to trial July 29.
DeShawn Anderson, 19, and Faucett’s husband, Kenyatta K.E. Bridges, 25, have been charged with first-degree murder in the Franklin County case. Both men have pleaded innocent.
Fernandez was gunned down as he drove his car into the parking lot of the Stonegate Apartments on Road 68 in Pasco. The slaying is believed to be retaliation for an earlier shooting that killed a 20-year-old Pasco man during an ongoing gang feud.
Faucett was apparently with her husband, Anderson and two others the day of the murder when they spotted Fernandez in Pasco, court documents said. The group followed Fernandez to a convenience store where Faucett approached him and got his phone number.
Prosecutors say Faucett called Fernandez later that night and acted like she wanted to hook up, though she actually was setting him up to be killed.
After the shooting, Faucett traveled with Bridges and Anderson out of the area to allegedly dispose of evidence connected to the murder, court documents said. Faucett reportedly lied to police when she was interviewed about a month later.
The meeting with police was supposed to be part of a deal that would allow Faucett to avoid homicide charges for her cooperation.
Faucett has more than 60 court cases in Benton, Franklin and Spokane counties, online court records show. She has previous convictions for cocaine possession, prostitution and theft.
