RELATED REPORT NUMBER(S): NONENARRATIVE: On 04/30/15 at approximately 2050 hours, I (Deputy T. Beach) was acting as an undercover prostitute for “Operation Clean Sweep”. (See Operation Overview report from Detective Jackson for details.) I received a text message via issued telephone from (503) [REDACTED] asking if I was available tonight. I replied that I was and the male planned to meet me at the Coeur d’Alene Casino. The male would not give me his name. The male asked if I was “gfe” meaning “girlfriend experience” and that is a common term used by prostitutes on Backpage.com.
I met a male that was medium build, approximately six foot, and had blonde hair. The male was wearing a long sleeve blue shirt with green writing and blue jeans. I met the male at the Nighthawk Lounge at four seat table located to the north. I gave the male a hug in an attempt to discretely search the males waistband for weapons. The males demeanor appeared to be very awkward and very quiet. I asked the male why he was nervous and he stated he “Didn’t want to go to jail.” The male and I sat at the table for approximately five minutes before I asked him if he wanted to go to the room that was reserved for the operation. The male stated yes. I asked the males name and he told me “Scott”. He was later identified by his Washington Driver’s License as (0) Scott Oscar Ashton. Ashton and I talked about cars and his work while we walked to the room. Ashton stated he worked for a farm and he was only in the area “Bummin” from Tri-Cities, Washington.
We arrived at room [REDACTED] and entered with my issued card key to enter the room. After entering Ashton and I sat at the living room table near the couch and the north restroom. I asked Ashton what he wanted to do and he was reluctant to answer. Eventually the male stated he wanted “An hour” and asked if I was “Okay with kissing”. I told the male an hour would cost two hundred dollars and I located the “Stopwatch” application on my issued telephone. I asked Ashton if this was his first time doing this, and he stated no. Ashton placed two 100 dollar bills on the table and I stated I was going to change into something in the bathroom for him. I did the “Arrest” signal and walked toward the south of the room. The arrest team, who was located in the closet near the bathrooms, exited and detained Ashton and took him into custody.
Ashton was transported to the interview room and later transported to the the Kootenai County Public Safety Building where he was booked for violation of Idaho Code 18-5614 Patronizing a Prostitute.
The duration of the contact in the room was video and audio recorded and was later copied to a CD and placed in Evidence. The cash exchanged was later booked

1. Woman allegedly tied to Pasco murder case arrested in Idaho prostitution sting
A woman accused of helping lure a Pasco man into an ambush-style killing was one of nine people arrested recently in a prostitution ring at an Idaho casino.
Mary A. Faucett, 26, was charged with prostitution following the two-day sting at the Cour d’Alene Casino, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.
Eight women — who range in age from 18 to 46 — were busted and charged in the case. A Richland man, Scott O. Ashton, 39, also was arrested and charged with solicitation of prostitution.
Faucett is charged in Franklin County with conspiracy, making false or misleading statements to a public servant and first-degree rendering criminal assistance for her alleged role in the December murder of Lorenzo “Richie” Fernandez Jr., 22. She has pleaded innocent and is set to go to trial July 29.
DeShawn Anderson, 19, and Faucett’s husband, Kenyatta K.E. Bridges, 25, have been charged with first-degree murder in the Franklin County case. Both men have pleaded innocent.
Fernandez was gunned down as he drove his car into the parking lot of the Stonegate Apartments on Road 68 in Pasco. The slaying is believed to be retaliation for an earlier shooting that killed a 20-year-old Pasco man during an ongoing gang feud.
Faucett was apparently with her husband, Anderson and two others the day of the murder when they spotted Fernandez in Pasco, court documents said. The group followed Fernandez to a convenience store where Faucett approached him and got his phone number.
Prosecutors say Faucett called Fernandez later that night and acted like she wanted to hook up, though she actually was setting him up to be killed.
After the shooting, Faucett traveled with Bridges and Anderson out of the area to allegedly dispose of evidence connected to the murder, court documents said. Faucett reportedly lied to police when she was interviewed about a month later.
The meeting with police was supposed to be part of a deal that would allow Faucett to avoid homicide charges for her cooperation.
Faucett has more than 60 court cases in Benton, Franklin and Spokane counties, online court records show. She has previous convictions for cocaine possession, prostitution and theft.

2. Prostitution sting at Coeur d'Alene Casino yields nine arrests
Nine people were arrested in a prostitution sting conducted by several law enforcement agencies last month at the Coeur d'Alene Casino.

A two-night operation was conducted and nine arrests were made. Eight women were charged with prostitution and one man was charged with solicitation of prostitution.
Arrested were:
- 39-year-old Scott O. Ashton of Richland, WA for Solicitation of Prostitution.
- 21-year-old Samantha N. Morgan of Spokane for Prostitution

- 33-year-old Anastasia T. Shyvers of Medical Lake for Prostitution
- 42-year-old Amy D. Trujillo of Pullman for Prostitution
- 46-year-old Carolyn A. Amell of Coeur d'Alene for Prostitution
The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office believes additional arrests could have been made, but after the first night, several posts were made on social media warning of the operation at the casino.

4. 8 Women, 1 Man Arrested in Sting at Idaho Casino
WORLEY, Idaho -Nine people were arrested in a prostitution sting conducted by several law enforcement agencies last month at the Coeur d'Alene Casino. A two-night operation was conducted and nine arrests were made. Eight women were charged with prostitution and one man was charged with solicitation of prostitution.
Arrested were:

Tri-Cities readers may recognize one of the women arrested, Mary Faucett. NBC Right Now has interviewed her in the recent past because of her alleged involvement in the death of Lorenzo "Richie" Fernandez Jr. in December. Faucett's husband Kenyatta Bridges faces murder charges in the case, along with Deshawn Anderson. Faucett is accused of getting Fernandez's phone number and setting him up.
The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office believes additional arrests could have been made, but after the first night, several posts were made on social media warning of the operation at the casino.

5. Nine arrested in prostitution sting at Coeur d’Alene Casino
A two-night law enforcement operation targeting prostitution at the Coeur d’Alene casino last week ended with nine arrests, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday. Casino management has seen an upswing in activities indicating prostitutes were operating within the casino and attached resort over the past few months, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. The Sheriff’s Office worked with Coeur d’Alene Tribal Police and the FBI because the casino is within tribal jurisdiction. The goal of the operation was to reduce the number of prostitutes in Kootenai County, the release said. Arrested and charged with prostitution were: Samantha Morgan, 21, Yesenia Barreda, 18, Mary Faucett, 26, and Tonya Talbott, 45, all of Spokane; Mary Gorkhali, 41, and Carolyn Amell, 46, of Coeur d’Alene; Anastasia Shyvers, 33, of Medical Lake and Amy Trujillo, 42, of Pullman. Scott O. Ashton, 39, of Richland, was charged with solicitation of prostitution. Bond for all suspects was set at $300. As of Wednesday, only Shyvers was listed as an inmate in the Kootenai County Jail.

6. Nine busted in Coeur d’Alene Casino sex sting
Nine people have been arrested after a multi-agency operation targeted prostitution at Coeur d’Alene Casino.
The prostitution complaints were targeted at the casino on Wednesday, April 29 and Thursday, April 30.
Coeur d’Alene Casino management had seen an increase in activities which indicated an increase in prostition activity within the casino and the attached resort hotel areas. They contacted Coeur d’Alene Tribal Police for help.
Information from Washington law enforcement revealed some of the people seen by casino security were suspected prostitutes and their customers.
The Coeur d’Alene Tribal Police involved the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI to handle shared jurisdictional issues.
The goal of the operation was to reduce the number of active prostitutes operating within Kootenai County, and more specifically the Coeur d’Alene Casino.
Over the two-night operation, nine arrests were made; eight adult females were charged with prostitution and one male was charged with solicitation of prostitution. Investigators believe more arrests could have been made, but after the first night, several social media posts were being made warning of the “prostitution sting” at the Casino.

7. Two arrested in Idaho prostitution sting with ties to Tri-Cities
RICHLAND, Wash. -- A man from Richland and a woman from Spokane who both face charges in Franklin County, were part of those caught in a prostitution sting.
Scott Ashton, 39, of Richland is accused of solicitation of prostitution. Mary Faucett, 26, of Spokane, is accused of prostitution. Faucett's husband is Kenyatta Bridges, who is facing first degree murder charges for the shooting death of a man outside a Pasco apartment complex in December. Faucett was also charged with conspiracy to commit murder and has been out on bail while her husband awaits trial.
KOOTENAI COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE -- On Wednesday, April 29 and Thursday, April 30, 2015 several law enforcement agencies targeted suspected prostitution complaints at the Coeur d'Alene Casino.
Over the past several months, Coeur d'Alene Casino management had seen an upswing in activities which indicated prostitutes were operating within the Casino and attached Resort Hotel areas and contacted Coeur d'Alene Tribal Police for assistance. Further information from Washington law enforcement agencies confirmed the identities of several individuals seen by Casino security personnel as suspected prostitutes and their customers. As Washington law enforcement agencies have been conducting similar enforcement operations, prostitution activities have been migrated to the Kootenai County area.
Since the Coeur d'Alene Casino is within the jurisdiction of both the Coeur d'Alene Reservation and Kootenai County, the Coeur d'Alene Tribal Police involved the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to handle shared jurisdictional issues.
The goal of the operation was to reduce the number of active prostitutes operating within Kootenai County, and more specifically the Coeur d'Alene Casino in response to their complaints about increased illegal activity. Over the two-night operation, nine arrests were made; eight adult females were charged with prostitution and one male was charged with solicitation of prostitution. Investigators believe more arrests could have been made, but after the first night, several social media posts were being made warning of the "prostitution sting" at the Casino, which ultimately aided in the goal to reduce the number of prostitutes in Kootenai County.
Those arrested were:
Ashton, Scott O., 39 years old of Richland, WA - Solicitation of Prostitution, $300.00 bond
Morgan, Samantha N., 21 years old of Spokane, WA - Prostitution, $300.00 bond
Barreda, Yesenia S., 18 years old of Spokane, WA - Prostitution, $300.00 bond
