Summary

James D. Stokes was a mormon in Farmington, Utah. Stokes was a high school drama teacher that gave a 14 year old female student rides home after play rehearsal, and sexually abused her on January 2010. The girl told her parents and Stokes was arrested one month later and charged with two counts of FORCIBLE SEXUAL ABUSE – 2nd Degree Felony.

Stokes was found guilty of one count of FORCIBLE SEXUAL ABUSE – 2nd Degree Felony and was sentenced to 1-15 years in prison/prison term suspended. Sentenced to 365 days in jail. And the defendant may be released to enter in and complete the NUCCC program when bed space becomes available. (Northern Utah Community Correctional Center, a halfway house for sex offenders)

Previously to this sexual abuse case there were other allegations towards Stokes in an Ogden high school he taught at, that could not be confirmed.
