2. Murray firefighter accused of several felony child sex crimes
MURRAY, Utah (KUTV) — A firefighter with the Murray City Fire Department was arrested on felony child sex crimes.
Tyson David Green, 47, was arrested on two second-degree felony counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.
An officer with the Utah Division of Investigations was acting undercover in a chat room in an effort to identify a child predator from July 31 to Aug. 27, 2025.
A member of the FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force posed as a father with access to a nine-year-old daughter.
A man with the username "curLDSguy" reportedly contacted the undercover officer and started a conversation about his sexual interest in minors.
When the officer asked if he was "active" with his children, meaning actively abusing them, he replied, "No, I wish."
"The conversation then transitioned to an encrypted messaging application where the conversation escalated further," the affidavit states.
In some of the conversations, the user said he was born in Layton, grew up in Fruit Heights, and lived in West Layton — which later helped investigators identify him as Green.
Green allegedly sent multiple suggestive photos of young girls, mentioned his "favorite incestuous video," and referred to the undercover officer's non-existent daughter.
A subpoena returned from T-Mobile confirmed Green was the user.
He was arrested on Wednesday at the Murray City Fire Department.

3. Murray firefighter arrested in undercover exploitation sting now faces 15 felony charges
MURRAY — A firefighter arrested and accused of trying to arrange a meeting with a young girl to sexually assault her was also distributing child sex abuse material from his laptop, according to prosecutors.
Tyson David Green, 47, of Layton, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on Wednesday and charged Friday in 3rd District Court with 15 counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, a first-degree felony.
Between July 31 and Wednesday, an undercover agent with the FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force posed online as a father offering his 9-year-old daughter. He was contacted by Green and the two "had a conversation regarding sexual interest in minors," according to a police booking affidavit.
"When the (undercover agent) asked if he was 'active' with his kids, meaning actively abusing them, he replied with, 'No, I wish,'" the affidavit alleges.
The two continued messaging on an encrypted messaging application. Green said "he had been chatting with 'pdos' (pedos) and that they had sent him a pic and he was hooked," according to the affidavit.
During their messaging, Green also sent images of child sex abuse material to the undercover agent, the affidavit says.
Green was arrested Wednesday "at a fire station in Murray," police noted in the arrest report. "Green is a firefighter/paramedic for Murray Fire Department, and therefore occupies a position of trust and responsibility in the community. He also has expressed a sexual interest in minor females between the ages of 7 and 17."
After arresting him, investigators "obtained a second warrant to seize electronic devices belonging to Green at the Murray fire station where Green was working at the time of his arrest," according to charging documents filed Friday. A MacBook computer was searched and "law enforcement observed that Green has been actively distributing child sex abuse material to many other internet users."
Green was placed on administrative leave Wednesday pending the outcome of an internal investigation, and further action could be taken once that is completed, according to a spokeswoman for the city of Murray.

6. Murray firefighter charged with 15 counts of aggravate
WARNING: This post contains information regarding child sexual exploitation. Reader discretion is advised.
MURRAY, Utah (ABC4) — A Murray firefighter has been charged with numerous counts of child sexual exploitation after chatting with undercover officer posing as a man with sexual interest in children, according to the State Bureau of Investigation.
Tyson David Green, 47, is charged in Salt Lake County with 15 counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor (first-degree felony).
Between July 31 and Aug. 27, the State Bureau of Investigation conducted an undercover operation involving an online chat room in an effort to identify child predators. A member of the FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force posed as a father with access to a 9-year-old daughter, court documents state.
PREVIOUSLY: Murray City firefighter arrested for allegedly possessing and distributing CSAM onlineThe undercover officer began chatting with a user named “curLDSguy,” alleged to be Tyson Green, and the two had a conversation regarding sexual interest in children. The officer asked the user if he was “active” with kids, meaning actively abusing them, according to court documents, and the user replied, “no, I wish.”
They moved the conversation to an encrypted messaging application where the conversation escalated further, according to law enforcement. Police submitted an investigative subpoena to the chatroom page for IP data, which led them to a T-Mobile IP address.
In the new chat on the encrypted app, Green allegedly used a new username, “MrrdDad,” meaning married dad. MrrdDad told the undercover officer that he had been chatting with “pdos,” or pedophiles, and that they had sent him a picture that got him “hooked,” court documents state.
MrrdDad said they had sent him “pics of yng [young] girls.” He also mentioned that he was born in Layton, grew up in Fruit Heights, and now lived in West Layton. Green allegedly sent multiple photos of young girls, as well as a CSAM video, to the officer.
In one discussion about preferred ages, Green allegedly said while he had previously been only interested in teens, he now preferred girls as young as 9 years old.
Through subpoenaed information from T-Mobile, investigators found Green’s Layton address and conducted surveillance. On Monday, Aug. 25, shortly after messaging the undercover officer saying he had to leave, Green reportedly left his home on a bicycle.
On Wednesday, Aug. 27, Green was arrested at a fire station in Murray. He reportedly had a T-Mobile phone that was turned off prior or during his arrest. Police also executed a search warrant on Green’s Macbook computer, where they found that he had allegedly been actively distributing child sexual abuse material to multiple users.
Green’s job as a firefighter for the Murray Fire Dept. puts him in a position of special trust in the community and gives him access to children.
Green was booked into Salt Lake County Jail on the aforementioned charges, which were filed by the Utah Attorney General’s Office. No further information is available at this time.
Charges are allegations only. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

7. Murray Fire employee arrested for alleged child exploitation
MURRAY, Utah, Aug. 29, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — A man described by the State Bureau of Investigation as a Murray Fire employee was taken into custody Wednesday.
Tyson David Green, 47, was arrested for two counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, a first-degree felony.
The investigation began on July 31 when a member of the FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force involved in a chat room page, posing as the father of a 9-year-old girl, contacted a user who called “curLDSguy.”
The undercover agent, identified as “UC,” had a conversation with CurLDSguy “regarding sexual interest in minors,” Green’s arrest document says.
“When the UC asked if he was ‘active’ with his kids, meaning actively abusing them, he (Green) replied with, ‘no, I wish.’ The conversation then transitioned to an encrypted messaging application where the conversation escalated further.”
An investigative subpoena was later submitted to the chatroom page for IP data, which subsequently led to a T-Mobile IP address. That T-Mobile IP address was also subpoenaed, the affidavit says.
It was confirmed that CurLDSguy was the same user as “MrrdDad” (married dad) on the encrypted app.
“MrrdDad mentioned he had been chatting with ‘pdos’ (pedos) and that they had sent him a pic and he was hooked,” Green’s court documents say.
“He said they had sent him “pics of yng (young) girls.” MrrdDad also mentioned how he was born in Layton, grew up in Fruit Heights, but now lived in West Layton (this is relevant to identification of the subject).”
Subpoened information from T-Mobile led investigators to Green’s Layton address. Shortly after Green messaged to the undercover agent that he had to go out, Green left his residence on a bicycle, the statement says.
Green was arrested Wednesday, and had a T-Mobile device that had been turned off before or during his arrest, court documents say.
The arresting officer noted “Green is a firefighter/paramedic for Murray Fire Department, and therefore occupies a position of trust and responsibility in the community.”
