1. Obituary: SCHWENDIMAN, FRED C
Fred C. Schwendiman
1941 ~ 2011
"To make a long story short"WEST JORDAN, UT
Fred Charles Schwendiman, age 70 passed away on Nov. 20, 2011 from a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born Oct. 22, 1941 in SLC, UT to [redacted].
Fred was raised in SLC until the age of 12. At that time his family moved to Orem, UT where he attended and graduated from Orem High School. On Sept. 22, 1960, Fred married his caring wife [redacted] in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
They continued living in Orem until 1967 and then moved to Cedar City, UT where he attended SUSC, graduating in 1971 with a degree in social work/police science. In 1971 Fred and his family moved to West Jordan, UT where they have resided for 40 years.
Fred first worked as an x-ray technician then later found his love for law enforcement serving the state of Utah in many different capacities for 34 years. He retired in 1997 as the director of the Utah Division of Investigations.
Fred was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved serving at the Conference Center with his wife.
He had many hobbies and talents, but his most favorite being that of a wood carver. He carved many carvings and had the opportunity to share his treasured carvings with his family just days before his passing. He had a love for fishing, golfing and 4-wheeling. He went on many 4-wheeling trips with his wife and friends. He loved to fish and golf especially with his children and grandchildren. He always looked forward to the family golf tournaments. The most important thing in Fred's life was his wife and family and it was evident. Nothing came before them in his life. His example of this will be his biggest legacy for his children and grandchildren as they too have made this a #1 priority in their own lives. During his last days his family was able to give back helping him overcome the pains of his illness, they never left his side. The void of his presence will be difficult to overcome, he was truly loved and will be deeply missed.
