(2026 – ) Samuel Ajay Kumar Patha was a Mormon church member and returned missionary who served in the New Delhi India mission from 2008 to 2010, and who held callings including youth leader, mission leader and counselor in a bishopric; a person who reported the case to FLOODLIT states that between September and November 2013, while a student at Brigham Young University-Hawaii and 17 years old, they were raped, sexually assaulted and physically assaulted by him on numerous occasions, and subjected to verbal abuse and religious manipulation.

Samuel Ajay Kumar Patha was a Mormon church member and returned missionary who served in the New Delhi India mission from 2008 to 2010, and who held callings including youth leader, mission leader and counselor in a bishopric. A person who reported the case to FLOODLIT states that between September and November 2013, while a student at Brigham Young University-Hawaii and 17 years old, they were raped, sexually assaulted and physically assaulted by him on numerous occasions, and subjected to verbal abuse and religious manipulation.

They reported it to the university’s honor code office, which opened a large investigation.

According to their account, three women had already reported him to that office for the same conduct before their own report, and the office worked hard to bury the matter. Both their own bishop and his were informed, as was the university president. When the matter was taken to local police, the reporting person says they received a similar response.
