Summary

Floyd Jennings was a former Mormon bishop in Utah. He was caught in a sting operation trying to solicit sex from two girls he thought were 13 years old.
Jennings died in 2025.
For a time, Jennings lived in Brazil, where he “built two LDS chapels, as well as a stake center and visitor center adjacent to the São Paulo Brazil Temple,” according to a 2025 obituary.

St. George, UTFloyd Jennings, age 78, of St. George, Utah, passed away on June 19, 2025, after facing multiple health challenges. He was born on January 12, 1947, in Dragerton, Utah, to Val B. Jennings and Sarepta Prince Jennings.
Floyd married [wife] on May 9, 1970, in the Manti Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were married for 48 and a half years before they divorced. After some time, he married [redacted] of Smithfield, Utah, though their marriage was later annulled.
Floyd spent most of his youth in Price, Utah, where he was raised alongside his four brothers: [redacted]. He enjoyed playing all kinds of sports, especially basketball with his brothers.
He proudly served in the Army National Guard and later accepted a call to serve a two-year LDS mission in Brazil. After returning, he continued his service in the National Guard, where he attained the rank of First Lieutenant in the Linguistics Unit.
Floyd attended the College of Eastern Utah and later studied at Brigham Young University. He spent the majority of his professional life as a general building contractor. Early in his career, after having two children, Floyd and [wife] moved their family to Brazil, where he built two LDS chapels, as well as a stake center and visitor center adjacent to the São Paulo Brazil Temple. Floyd also provided Portuguese translation support for construction project visitors from the United States. Throughout his career, Floyd worked on construction projects in Utah, California, Nevada, and New Mexico. He was known for his strong work ethic and instilled that same value in his children.
He was known for his quick wit and signature dad jokes—bringing both laughter and the occasional eye roll to those around him.
A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Floyd served faithfully in many callings, including as a bishop. He especially loved missionary work and found joy in sharing his faith. Later in life, he and [wife] served LDS missions together in Nauvoo, Illinois; Chile; and Cove Fort, Utah.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, [redacted].
Graveside services will be held at the Price City Cemetery on June 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
