Summary

Matthew Gregory Shepard a mormon in Salt Lake City, Utah. Shepard was the former ice skating president and tried to set up a sexual encounter with a 13 year old girl he met online, while using the online name “fundaddy”. Fortunately that 13 year old was a persona that a Child Exploitation Task Force set up.

Shepard was charged in 3rd District Court with a count of criminal solicitation, a first-degree felony; five counts of enticing a minor, a second-degree felony; and a count of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor, a third-degree felony. Accepted a plea deal and pleaded guilty to 3 counts of ENTICE A MINOR BY INTERNET OR TEXT – 2nd Degree Felony. He was sentenced to 1-15 years in prison for each count, but they were to run concurrently.
