Shad James Hansen (born 1985) was a Mormon church member in Blackfoot, Bingham County, Idaho. He sexually abused a child over a six-year period; an investigation began in August 2024 and he pleaded guilty in 2025 to one count of felony lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor child, having originally faced two counts of felony lewd conduct with a child under 16, one count of felony child sexual abuse and one count of felony enticing a child over the internet.

He was sentenced to 30 years in prison with a mandatory minimum of 12 years before parole eligibility, and must register as a sex offender.

According to an account submitted to FLOODLIT, the child was his daughter, and when the abuse was first discovered within the family he drank heavily and threatened to take his own life; the family went to their bishop, who talked him out of it, and after a meeting at the church attended by his parents the child returned home. Six months later further abuse was captured on a home security camera, and he was found to have been directing the child to send him videos.
