(1994 – ) Tayler Anderson (born 1994) is a Mormon church member from Layton, Utah; in November 2019 he was arrested for purchasing and distributing child sexual abuse material on the dark web and charged with eight counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.

Tayler Anderson (born 1994) is a Mormon church member from Layton, Utah. According to a report submitted to FLOODLIT, he was sexually abused as a child and then abused other children in his neighbourhood while still a child himself.

Church leaders knew of this history, delayed his mission departure for a repentance process lasting a couple of months, and never sought to identify or speak with the children he had harmed.

He served in the Illinois Champaign mission from 2014 to 2015 and returned home early. In November 2019 he was arrested for purchasing and distributing child sexual abuse material on the dark web and charged with eight counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony. Despite thousands of files across three or four devices, his charges and sentence were reduced in exchange for evidence that led to further arrests, and he was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison, serving less. He appears on Utah’s sex offender registry.
