Thomas David White Sr. (1948-2025) was an active Mormon church member in Smyrna, Tennessee, who served as a ward executive secretary, a Primary teacher and in other callings. Between 2009 and 2012 he sexually abused a female child relative.

He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 20 years’ probation, sex offender classes and a period wearing an ankle monitor.

The parent who reported the case to FLOODLIT states that after their daughter disclosed, three nieces said he had abused them as well; he was never charged over those. He never admitted the abuse, though he made remarks such as being sorry for ruining everything. According to the report his bishop certainly knew, he was never disciplined, no disciplinary council was held, he was advanced to the high priest group, and he was permitted to attend all church functions.
